KNIGHTS BROWN PROJECT INFORMATION WALES
HAILEY PARK TAFF TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS
ABOUT THE SCHEME...
The Taff Trail through Hailey Park is set to undergo an upgrade as part of Cardiff Council’s commitment to enhancing active travel routes across the city. The project will widen the path to 3.5 metres to better accommodate both pedestrians and cyclists, with a buff-coloured tarmac finish designed to blend naturally with the park environment. For improved safety, sections of the trail will be relocated away from the children’s play area, while measures will also be taken to protect the Waxcap fungi habitat in response to feedback from public consultations. In addition, the scheme will incorporate flood mitigation measures through improved surface water management and will introduce alternative alignments at certain points along the route, such as at the northern end, to avoid narrow sections near trees while retaining the existing path.
We will keep you updated with our progress as the project develops.
